The Veterans Mental Health Coalition of NYC

The Mental Health Association of New York City has formed the Veterans Mental Health Coalition of NYC in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness of NYC.

The mission of the Coalition is to promote the mental health and well-being of New York City service members, veterans, and their families through education, information, collaboration, and promotion of a comprehensive array of services.

Public Education, Information and Training Committee
Charge: To promote the mental health and well-being of NYC service members and veterans and their families by:

  • disseminating information about evidence-based treatments and other support services currently available in NYC;
  • educating stakeholders in the community about the issues facing soldiers and their families and how best they can be helped; and
  • improving the knowledge-base and clinical competencies of helping professionals and social service providers.
