Family Resource Center

The mission of the Family Resource Centers (FRCs) is to reduce the isolation and stress of parenting a child with emotional and behavioral challenges.  Family advocates, who have also experienced the struggle of raising a child with mental health needs are here to guide and support families to become their child’s best advocate in getting the services they need.

The support, information and advocacy provided by the staff opens the door to hope and services for you and your child. Services include:

  • Help navigating the mental health, education, and other child-serving systems in New York City
  • Parenting skills groups and support groups for parents and youth
  • Care coordination services for families with complex situations who need assistance with several major child-serving systems
  • Workshops, seminars and recreational activities for families
  • Referrals to appropriate community services

We offer support, individual advocacy and psychoeducational services to any parent or caregiver of a child with emotional or behavioral health issues in New York City. All of our services are free of charge and offered in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese.
